Collard Greens Are Taking Over

You wouldn’t believe the amount of collard greens I have in my garden! I finally had to harvest a bunch and I even gave some to my neighbor.
I cleaned and washed these and am going to slow cook some with bacon and saute some with EVOO, garlic and lemon juice. I think we will be set for a while.

Shepherds Pie

My English husband love Shepherd’s Pie. I make one that’s pretty basic. I saute some onion and garlic in some olive oil and then add about one pound ground lamb. See the links for the Santa Fe local lamb or you can get it at La Montanita Coop. While the meat is cooking I cut up some patatoes into 1 inchish cubes. I leave the skins on because its quicker, healthier and gives it a rustic flare.

Brocoli Raab From the Garden

Our first harvests from the garden are starting to come in. This was some Brocoli Raab sauted in some olive oil and garlic. Even C likes this dish.
Our Colard Green need to be harvested too. Wow, the yearly start paid off this year.
